Rowing Paddling & Sea Skills Training
SLLP has commissioned a two day training course on water safety, Canadian canoe paddling and coastal rowing for 11-16 year olds at the Clear Skies Adventure Centre at Castle Ward on 28 and 29 July. This has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of our wider Turn O’ The Tide programme to engage people with their heritage.
On each day the young people will be split into two groups with one on the water learning boat handling while the other is on land going through weather prediction, route planning, handling boats on land, wildlife etc., they then swap around in the afternoon or as tides dictate. Cost for the two days is £10 per young person.
